This work looks like a bird’s nest, which usually makes people think of love, care, and home. I started with the idea of how birds feed their babies, just like a warm and happy family，but not everyone has a safe or loving home. That’s why I used cold metal materials. The spoon can mean feeding, but also being “spoon-fed”—when someone is forced to accept things without a choice. The chain shows how family can sometimes feel like a trap, holding you back. The barbed wire is sharp and painful, just like the hurt some people feel from their families.
This artwork shows that a “home” is not always safe. Sometimes, it can also hurt.
